videos removed by copyright owners

Videos removed at the request of copyright owners accounted for only nine percent of the total videos on YouTube while removed videos accounted for only six percent of total video views on the site, according to a study released by online tracking firm Vidmeter.com. The report studied clips and usage from December 2005 to March 2007, concentrating on the 6,725 most-viewed clips. Vidmeter tracks video downloads from Addicting Clips, Break, Brightcove, Daily Motion, Google, Grouper, iFilm, Metacafe, MySpace, Revver, Veoh, vSocial, Yahoo and YouTube.
